Hoeveel vierkante meter wil een klant gebruiken, om hoeveel vierkante meter per woning vraagt de markt in een bepaald gebied binnen de stad en hoeveel vierkante meter dient er te worden gebouwd om te kunnen voldoen aan het gewenste programma.Maar, de ene vierkante meter blijkt in veel gevallen niet de ander te zijn.Ondanks dat het bepalen van hoeveelheden namelijk vrij eenduidig lijkt, blijkt keer op keer open te staan voor interpretaties en leidt het in veel gevallen tot discussies. Voor een eenduidige bepaling van gebouwoppervlakten is de NEN 2580 opgezet. Het juist toepassen van de norm is echter niet altijd direct duidelijk.Deze handreiking geeft een duidelijk overzicht hoe de NEN 2580 toegepast moet worden in de praktijk.
